High School Bursaries

Please check that you are eligible for bursary before applying.  Read the terms carefully before completing your application and supply relevant supporting documentation. Students are welcome to apply for multiple awards – please read eligibility requirements of each available award.

General Eligibility Requirements

• You must be attached by ancestry, identity and community to the Syilx Okanagan Nation
• You must have graduated high school in the 2024-2025 academic year.

Please follow and read specific eligibility for each scholarship, bursary and award for additional criteria and deadlines. If you are a high school applicant planning on attending post-secondary in the fall of 2024, you may apply for some of the post-secondary bursaries. Please read the eligibility requirements for all post-secondary bursaries before applying.

Available Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards

Siya Award – $1000

The Syilx Siya Bursary is awarded to 2 Syilx Okanagan high school graduates who have demonstrated a willingness to dream big for themselves, their Nation, their community, and/or their family. These awards are intended to recognize service, leadership, and community involvement.
